A concrete commitment to the local area

“EY’s Assurance team, through the EY Foundation, has decided to support the Olivami association to help revitalize the Apulian countryside, by promoting a new form of sustainable and participatory olive farming capable of generating a positive impact both environmentally and socially, creating jobs and fostering the growth and development of the Salento region, which has been particularly hard-hit by Xylella.”

The story of the project

EY exists to build a better world of work, help create long-term value for clients, people, and society, and build trust in financial markets. Backed by data and technology, EY teams in more than 150 countries build trust through audit services and help clients grow, transform, and drive their businesses forward. Working in the fields of auditing, consulting, tax and legal services, strategy, and transactions, EY professionals ask the right questions to find innovative solutions to the complex challenges the world faces today. In 2012, the EY Foundation—a third-sector philanthropic organization—was established as an independent entity whose mission is to promote—in part through collaboration with the EY network — sustainable social and economic change by implementing projects of recognized value in areas of need, aimed in particular at young people facing hardship (Article 5 of the bylaws). The EY Foundation—a third-sector philanthropic organization—serves as the operational arm responsible for planning and implementing the EY network’s corporate responsibility programs and projects in Italy, as well as for planning and carrying out projects aimed at social solidarity. The Foundation’s projects are primarily aimed at young people who are working toward vocational training goals, or who are facing illness, recovery from hospitalization, or other hardships. The mission: to create a new system of participatory relationships, to open up new paths in life—even for those who currently do not believe it is possible—and to build a sustainable future. Through the EY Foundation—a third-sector philanthropic organization to which EY has entrusted the important task of social responsibility—the entire EY network contributes its expertise and resources to talent development and social solidarity. Thus, the Foundation, in collaboration with EY, aims to promote sustainable social and economic change for the benefit of the entire community. “EY” refers to the global organization comprising the Member Firms of Ernst & Young Global Limited, each of which is a separate legal entity.
