“Piantare alberi è, per tutti, il modo più efficace per combattere l’emissione di CO2. Ne piantiamo tanti, ogni anno, ma piantare alberi di Ulivo nel Salento ha un valore ancora più importante per l’intero territorio. Negli ultimi 5 anni la Xylella ha distrutto oltre 21 milioni di ulivi. Un tempo anche la nostra struttura era un meraviglioso bosco di ulivi che, nel corso di questi lunghi anni, abbiamo visto soffrire e poi morire, senza poter fare nulla per salvare anche solo un albero. Non è difficile comprendere il dolore e la disperazione degli agricoltori salentini che a seguito della Xylella, hanno perso i loro campi e il loro lavoro. Siamo profondamente innamorati della nostra terra e pronti a impegnarci attivamente per preservarla e vederla rifiorire. Grazie all’Associazione Olivami, siamo quindi felici di poter contribuire insieme ai nostri Collaboratori, ai nostri Ospiti e a tutti gli amici di Baia di Gallipoli, alla riforestazione del Salento, aiutando i nostri agricoltori, e restituendo alle future generazioni, il meraviglioso territorio nel quale siamo cresciuti. ”

The story of the project
The Baia di Gallipoli Camping Resort is an OpenAir facility ideal for experiencing a relaxing vacation in contact with nature. A facility surrounded by the blue sea and the wilderness of Punta Pizzo Nature Park.
“Planting trees is the most effective way for everyone to combat CO2 emissions. We plant many of them every year, but planting olive trees in Salento is even more important for the entire region. Over the past five years, Xylella has destroyed more than 21 million olive trees. Our property, too, was once a magnificent olive grove that, over the course of these long years, we have watched suffer and then die, without being able to do anything to save even a single tree. It’s not hard to understand the pain and despair of Salento’s farmers, who, as a result of Xylella, have lost their fields and their livelihoods. We are deeply in love with our land and ready to actively commit ourselves to preserving it and seeing it flourish once again. Thanks to the Olivami Association, we are therefore happy to be able to contribute—together with our staff, our guests, and all the friends of Baia di Gallipoli—to the reforestation of Salento, helping our farmers and restoring to future generations the wonderful land in which we grew up.”
