Farmacia Bertoncello snc has a long history dating back to the early 1900s. Throughout its various changes in management—whether by choice or as a result of natural evolution—it has always sought to renew itself in many ways. This journey is not yet over—and likely never will be—thanks, as always, to the joint efforts of the owners and all the pharmacists and non-pharmacist staff who contribute to it, which are central to the company’s “well-being.” A pharmacy is indeed a business, but it is a very unique one simply because it deals with the health of its customers—people who have their own vulnerabilities and are seeking professional advice and, often, a kind word accompanied by a smile. These are all aspects that are not obvious and are difficult to ensure in an increasingly complex social context marked by often complicated relationships and a fast-paced lifestyle. The Bertoncello Pharmacy operates in Noale, a small town in the province of Venice. Currently, its clientele is largely local, and the business must adapt to the social and economic realities of the area. As a business, its role is not only to improve its performance but also to serve as a guarantor of employment, striving to ensure the satisfaction of its employees and contributing to the well-being of the local community. Furthermore, supporting local initiatives—to the best of its ability—is an indirect way of thanking those who visit us every day. We believe that the effort to take a longer-term view of environmental sustainability is no small matter. Participating in OlivaMi’s Corporate Garden project is rewarding to us, knowing that our small effort toward a region of Italy severely affected by disasters can help it recover and look to the future with confidence. The distance between us and Salento is “negligible,” and what is happening in our country (and on our planet) compels us to reflect on these events. The olive trees rooted in the soil, each one different from the next in appearance, form a picture that reflects humanity. “Like a Garden of Olive Trees, may no one be left alone!”
